Start with the agreed scope
Identify the job reference, customer, site, accepted quote and approved variations. Check completed work against those records. Keep anything outside the agreed scope separate so it can be discussed clearly.
Make outstanding items explicit
Record each unfinished item, who owns it and the next action or agreed date. Do not describe the entire job as complete while leaving important qualifications buried in an email. Record any customer comments and who will respond.
Bring the documents together
List the documents that the particular job requires and where the current versions are stored. This may include approved drawings, instructions, product information or records required by the responsible professionals. The checklist itself does not establish what technical or statutory evidence is required.
Confirm the next contact
Record who attended, the date, what was discussed and any acknowledgements or decisions. Send an accurate summary through your normal business process. Keep the handover record linked to the job and check separately whether invoicing is due under the agreed terms.
